PATTON TECHNOLOGY
STEEL
All our watches are made of 316L stainless steel, a guarantee
of their quality and solidity. A black PVD coating is applied
to the steel of the P42 HYPERBAR and P42 CHRONOGRAPH PVD models.
During our laboratory trials, our P42s undergo salt spray tests
at very high concentrations. These tests are extremely aggressive
towards the casing and enable us to ratify the quality of our
steels and our PVD. As you can see from the PATTON challenges,
our watches are then validated by real-life trials at the bottom
of the ocean for months on end in order to confirm our research.

GLASS
The PATTON P42 glass is all sapphire (synthetic corundum)
and is therefore virtually scratchproof, except by diamond.
It is treated with an anti-reflective coating to ensure clearer
vision of the dial. The contact seal between the glass and
the dial has been particularly researched in our laboratory
in order to ensure complete watertightness. The P42 HYPERBAR
model has withstood pressures of over a tonne on the glass
without any leakage. These tests were conducted and validated
with support from IFREMER in a hydrostatic water tank.

CASE-BACK
Our case-backs are made of 316L stainless
steel and are screwed to the case and fitted with a very specific
large-diameter seal in order to ensure a completely watertight
seal.
The high thickness of our case-backs (2.1 mm) further reinforces
their rigidity against any possible deformation. Each case-back
is individually engraved and numbered.

WATCH LUGS
The watch strap lugs are made of armoured heavy section
steel, in order to guarantee excellent solidity if the watch
catches.

MOVEMENT
The SWISS-MADE movements of P42 HYPERBAR and P42 IMMERSION
are fitted with lithium batteries, with an estimated battery
life of ~10 years.
They are extremely low in energy consumption
and exceptionally reliable.

WINDER
All PATTON watches’ winding mechanisms are screw-down;
they are kept watertight by several internal seals. A protective
system on the casing prevents
any risk of the winder being wrenched
off.

DIAL
Our dials and hands all feature multi-layered LUMINO numbers,
ensuring perfect luminosity in the dark.

HYPERBARIC SYSTEM
Our HYPERBAR system was particularly complex
to implement. All the internal elements of this watch are permanently
immersed in a liquid mixture developed in our workshop to prevent
any compression of the watch when diving. This liquid is incompressible
in water and therefore enables the P42H to withstand abyssal
depths without incurring any damage. Another noteworthy characteristic
of this liquid is that it is not a conductor, to prevent it from
affecting the battery, and it must not slow down the ticking
of the second hand.
Finally, filling our P42H watch with this liquid is a very technical
operation: the case must be free of air, the pressure inside
the watch must be calculated,
the size of the compensation bubble
determined, etc.
The numerous technological feats inherent to the development
and building of this model make it one of the emblematic achievements
of contemporary watchmaking.

CONCLUSION
Each component of our PATTON watches is systematically
studied, controlled and tested in the laboratory then in extreme
situations so as to offer you the most solid and reliable watches.
Our watchmakers are always very proud of the real-life challenges
which are permanently validating the quality of their craftsmanship. |
